Where Pilates Meets the South of France
Cote d’ Azur, France June 13-20, 2027
This retreat blends mindful movement with the spirit of adventure. The Provencal Pause is a pilates retreat designed to help you reset - daily pilates to lengthen and strengthen, guided treks through Lavender fields and hilltop villages, delicious local food and good company.
We chose June for a reason. Early summer in Cote d’ Azur means long golden days, bustling village markets, and that soft Provençal light — before the peak crowds arrive. No rushing, just space to slow down and soak it all in.
We'll spend seven nights tucked into the Provençal countryside, perfectly placed for both rest and adventure. Imagine morning Reformer sessions for all levels, afternoons wandering medieval streets or trekking quiet trails, and evenings with a glass of rosé as the sun goes down.
Our home for the week
For seven nights Villa Higo will be our private home base on the Cote d’Azur.
Wake up to Mediterranean views. Step onto your balcony with coffee. Gather for movement and meals, cool off in the pool with great company or find a quiet corner to yourself. The week is yours to create the reset you need with a little adventure and pilates sprinkled in. With beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces all with views of the sea stretching out in front of you, the villa is the kind of place you will be very happy to come home to after a day of exploring.
Daily Pilates Sessions
Move each day with Reformer and Mat Pilates sessions led by Bri, with programming designed to feel challenging, energizing and fun. Whether you’ve been practicing Pilates for years or are newer to the method, sessions will offer opportunities to build strength, move with intention and feel fantastic in your body. And because this is a retreat, not a training camp, there will be plenty of time between sessions to relax, explore and enjoy France.
Brunch, Dinner + Wine
This is France. We’re going to eat accordingly. Your retreat includes two meals each day: brunch and dinner, plus snacks throughout the day. Gather around the table for fresh, locally inspired food, good conversation and wine served with dinner. Meals are part of the experience here. No rushing, no complicated plans, and nowhere else you need to be.
Experience the Côte d’Azur
Pilates may be what brings us together, but we’re not traveling all the way to the South of France without experiencing it. We’ll venture beyond the villa for a taste of the coastline, food, wine and culture that make this part of France so special.
Coastal Hike + Provençal Rosé Tasting
Spend part of the day exploring the beautiful Mediterranean coastline with a coastal hike from Le Lavandou, followed by a well-earned tasting of local rosé at Château Léoube. Sea views, fresh air and Provençal wine. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon.
Provençal Cooking Class
One evening, the experience comes home to the villa. Gather in the kitchen for a hands-on Provençal cooking class, learning to prepare regional favorites before sitting down to enjoy what we’ve created together. Come hungry!!
Day Trip to Saint Tropez
Spend the day exploring Saint-Tropez, one of the French Riviera’s most iconic seaside destinations. Wander through charming cobblestone streets, browse chic boutiques and local shops, admire the colorful harbor and soak up the effortless glamour of the Côte d’Azur.
Time to Actually Be on Vacation
We love a great itinerary. We also believe you should come home from vacation without needing another vacation. That means there will be real free time built into the week. Swim. Nap. Read by the pool. Explore the local area. Have another coffee. Spend an unreasonable amount of time on your sea-facing balcony. There’s no pressure to fill every minute.
Come for the Pilates. Stay for Everything Else.
This retreat is for anyone who hears “Pilates in the South of France” and immediately wants in. Come if you love Pilates. Come if you’re newer to Pilates. Come with a friend or come solo. Bring your partner, even if their idea of Pilates is watching you do it from a lounge chair. You don’t need to be the strongest or most experienced person in the room. You just need to be ready for five incredible nights of movement, exploration, relaxation and fun.
